Local MSP, Jackie Baillie, has welcomed a funding boost from SportScotland’s Sports Facilities Fund to the West Dunbartonshire Leisure Trust.
The Trust has been awarded £40,000 from the fund towards a project which will see the installation of three floodlit macadam tennis courts in Argyll Park, Alexandria. The £40,000 award from SportScotland will contribute to the £160,000 overall cost of the project.
The long term aim is to develop Argyll Park as the satellite hub for Kirktonhill Lawn Tennis Club or to create a standalone club at the facility.
“I am delighted that West Dunbartonshire Leisure Trust has received an award from SportScotland’s Sports Facilities Fund. The installation of tennis courts in Argyll Park will be a great asset for the whole community.
“I want to thank everyone at West Dunbartonshire Leisure Trust and Kirktonhill Lawn Tennis Club for their efforts.”
