Jackie Baillie has thanked the hard working Scottish SPCA staff for helping to rehome 227 animals in West Dunbartonshire between January and June this year.

Having recently visited the charity’s Dunbartonshire rehoming centre over the summer, the Dumbarton constituency MSP got to see first-hand how important their work is.

The charity recently revealed details of their work locally in the first half of the year which includes rehoming 227 animals and reuniting 13 people with their pets. They have also responded to 1665 incidents over the six-month period.

Jackie Baillie said: “The staff and volunteers at the local Scottish SPCA rehoming centre in Milton do fantastic work to look after the animals which come into their care.

“These figures show clearly the extent of their work and the valuable service they provide in our area.

“Like many charities, they have seen donations decrease and so are working under difficult circumstances. I thank them for continuing to provide a vital service during this cost of living crisis which has impacted both on their resources and the demands upon them.

“If people can donate any pet food to the centre that would be very welcome.”
