Jackie Baillie was delighted to welcome community volunteer Shereen Costley to the Scottish Parliament during a special visit recently.

Shereen attended the Scottish Parliament along with her sister Lola as special guests of Ms Baillie who represents the Dumbarton constituency, which includes Shereen’s hometown of Helensburgh.

The sisters attended First Minister’s Questions in the debating chamber as well as lunch with Jackie Baillie in the members’ restaurant before enjoying an organised tour of the building.

Jackie Baillie said: “It was a pleasure to meet with Shereen and her sister Lola at the Scottish Parliament. I was really delighted they were able to take up my invitation because the parliament has been closed for a period during Covid.

“Shereen is an upstanding member of the Helensburgh community, an active member of Bethesda Community Church and a volunteer who gives her time to helpline Shout along with other good causes.

“Through our conversations about her voluntary work, it was interesting to hear of the experiences of some of the people she has supported through Shout, a crisis textline. I thank her for her ongoing work to assist people who are desperately in need.”
