Commenting on the cross party call for action on the A83, Jackie Baillie MSP said:
“It’s essential that an urgent solution is found to deal with the continued landslip problems that lead to the closure of the A83 at the Rest and Be Thankful. We have been lucky that so far no one has been killed or seriously injured, but we are clear that the risk the landslips pose, is so great that an urgent solution is needed.
“With politicians from across the political divide in Argyll & Bute coming together, the hope is that with our collective voice the Scottish Government will listen. The consequences of not finding a permanent solution will hurt the Argyll & Bute economy and continue the delays that many frustrated local residents have to put up with.”
