JACKIE WELCOMES BIG LOTTERY FUNDING FOR LOCAL GROUPS

Local MSP, Jackie Baillie, has welcomed funding boosts from the National Lottery to the Luss Village Hall Restoration and Maintenance Association and the Bicentenary Pipe Band Championships.

The Luss Village Hall Restoration and Maintenance Association has been awarded £8,760 funding from the National Lottery Awards for All Scotland’s Big Lottery Fund. The group will use the funding to upgrade their Doctor’s surgery consultation room and to install a disabled toilet.

In addition, the Bicentenary Pipe Band Championship has received a £6,000 National Lottery Awards for All Scotland grant from Creative Scotland. The money will be used to host the West of Scotland Pipe Band Championships in Helensburgh this summer.

Jackie said:

“I am delighted that both groups have received funding from the National Lottery Awards for All Scotland’s funding scheme. I know that the funding awarded to Luss Village Hall will help to restore and maintain the Doctor’s surgery which will benefit the whole community.

“The Pipe Band Championships in Helensburgh are well loved by people in our local community as well as visitors and brings tourism to our area. I am delighted that funding has been awarded to host the event again this year.

“I want to thank both organisations for their ongoing contribution to our community.”
