Local MSP, Jackie Baillie, is increasingly angry about the incompetence of Clydelink in running the Kilcreggan Ferry and has once again called on SPT to terminate the contract with immediate effect. The ferry is expected to experience ‘technical’ faults once again this week, as Ferry users are yet again let down by Clydelink.

Local people have heard that the ferry service is expected to be suspended once again on Thursday as no skipper is available to sail the boat. This is yet more bad news for passengers as the Kilcreggan Ferry experiences ‘technical faults’ for the third week running.

Jackie said:

“The Kilcreggan Ferry service has been off more times than it has been on this year. This is the third week in a row that the service has been suspended due to technical faults leaving passengers stranded on either side of the Clyde. Yet these technical faults appear to be the lack of a skipper.

“This is now beyond a joke. I said in Parliament that the service made Para Handy look efficient but I am increasingly angry about the appalling service and SPT must step in.

“This is quite simply daylight robbery. SPT is being taken for a ride by Clydelink and passengers are being let down. I have been calling on SPT to end the contract with Clydelink early for some time now, yet there has been no movement. Passengers are quite rightly getting frustrated. SPT must immediately replace the contract and give passengers a service which they can rely on
