The SNP’s plan for full fiscal autonomy would be bad for Scotland, experts have said today.

The Institute for Fiscal Studies said that based on today’s figures the SNP’s plan for full fiscal autonomy “would likely involve substantial spending cuts or tax rises in Scotland.”

 

Scottish Labour’s Shadow Finance Secretary Jackie Baillie said:

 

“The experts couldn’t be clearer -; the SNP’s General Election plan for full fiscal autonomy would be bad for Scotland. Under the SNP Scotland would face austerity max.

 

“Only Scottish Labour has a better plan, that avoids the 1930s austerity of the Tories and the austerity max of the SNP’s plan for full fiscal autonomy. A vote for anyone other than Scottish Labour risks making the Tories the largest party across the UK, and sending David Cameron back to Downing Street by accident. The only way to get a Labour Government is to vote for Labour
