The SNP’s long list of education failures was laid bare at First Minister’s Questions, with fewer teachers, a drop in college students and falling numbers of university students from the poorest areas all happening on the First Minister’s watch.

 

Jackie Baillie MSP said:

 

“What we have seen from this Government is a track record of failure.

 

“The number of teachers in Scotland’s schools has fallen. The number of students going to college has fallen, and the latest figures on university students show a big drop in the numbers of students from the poorest backgrounds.

 

“On every level the SNP is failing Scotland, the First Minister should be ashamed of his record
